How I Start My Day

About a year ago I stumbled onto a blog, http://ohsheglows.com/.  The writer there touted the nutritional goodness of a green smoothie she had affectionally named, The Green Monster.  Well, I fell in love with the Green Monster!  I have tweaked the formula, and have come up with the ultimate green goodness that I start most every day with.  

It begins with a handful of organic baby spinach...

A Handful of organic kale...

A Tablespoon of chia seed...

Nope, not the chia pet...chia seed - chocked full of good nutrients....

Around a cup of a frozen mixture of strawberries, pineapple, peaches & mango...

A Tablespoon of delicious raw cacao powder - this makes the entire green monster in my opinion!

Finally, add around 12 ounces of Vanilla Almond milk. 

Blend the whole thing up and voila...I give you The Green Monster...

It might not look pretty to you, but I testify that it is refreshingly delicious...and oh, so good for you!  I have noticed a remarkable difference in my energy and health level.  I work in a school - a cesspool of germs - and I just don't get sick.  I love my Green Monsters, and on the few days I miss partaking of one - I just don't feel the same.  So, be brave, and try yourself a little green goodness! 

A New Blog / Beginning

I'm rather excited for a new blog.  It's been over a year since I've posted on our family's blog.  While I still wish to continue posting there, I feel as though I need a new beginning.  I always get a bit of a thrill in the fall as I peruse the school supply section.  There is something motivating about a new blank spiral bound notebook - with a beautiful cover, of course.  I feel the same about a new blog...a blank page for me to record thoughts and experiences - a place of my very own to share.  President Thomas S. Monson once said, "Let us relish life as we live it, find joy in the journey, and share our love with friends and family."  My goal.  I hope you enjoy stopping by every now & again to read & share your thoughts.  Let the journey begin!
